About the Workshop
The New Mexico Double Bass Workshop will be host to many amazing double bass faculty to lead masterclasses, chamber ensembles, jazz courses, and a double bass orchestra (among other activities) during the days of July 5-11, 2026, at the UNM Center For The Arts in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
This workshop is open to double bassists of all ages and skill levels, with activities for all! No auditions required; placements will be made using a questionnaire at registration designed to gauge appropriate placements based on skill and interests. Official registration is now open. New in 2026, we’ve added an orchestral repertoire track for high school through college aged students, with classes for those just beginning to work on excerpts to advanced players actively preparing for auditions. A mock audition will be included for intermediate/advanced players. Space is limited, register ASAP to reserve your spot for the orchestral repertoire track.
